An Intentional: Black History Month... "Love" is a Action Word!
As we embark on another Black History Month, let's celebrate not just the past but the vibrant present and promising future of African American entrepreneurship. Our community's resilience and creativity have long been the backbone of innovation and culture, yet, the path for Black-owned businesses is often paved with unseen challenges. It's time to change that narrative.
Hey Family,
As we embark on another Black History Month, let's celebrate not just the past but the vibrant present and promising future of African American entrepreneurship. Our community's resilience and creativity have long been the backbone of innovation and culture, yet, the path for Black-owned businesses is often paved with unseen challenges. It's time to change that narrative.
Today, I want to talk about love—not just any love, but a proactive, powerful love that acts and uplifts. Supporting Black businesses goes beyond economic benefits; it's about affirming the value of our community and recognizing the often-overlooked struggles many entrepreneurs face. Too often, we make assumptions about the visibility and success of these businesses. We might think a well-known local restaurant or a popular online store "always has orders coming in" or is "always booked." However, every purchase, every booking, and every bit of engagement counts.
Our support should not waver based on our assumptions. Whether it’s a packed event or a quiet day, showing up matters. Each act of support is a step toward stability and success for these entrepreneurs who venture daily into competitive markets with the odds stacked against them. This Black History Month, let's turn our support into a visible, tangible force. Let’s ensure that Black-owned businesses feel the strength of our commitment, not just in words but in actions.
I challenge each of you to support at least one Black-owned business each week this February. Whether it’s buying a coffee from a local Black-owned cafe, purchasing a gift from a Black-owned shop, or contracting services from Black entrepreneurs—every bit contributes to a collective uplift. Document your experiences, share them, and encourage others to join you in this commitment. Together, we can foster an environment where Black businesses not only survive but thrive.
Your participation sends a powerful message: you see them, you value them, and you choose to invest in their growth. Remember, supporting Black businesses is not just a transaction; it's an affirmation of hope, resilience, and a shared future.
Let’s make this Black History Month a starting point for year-round support. Join me in this commitment to love and support from a deep place—because when we lift up each other, we all rise.
With hope and love, Coach Ross
Let's turn our words into action. Our support means more now than ever in these unprecedented times. Let’s show up and show love, endlessly.
